SWAN LAKE by BRITISH FESTIVAL BALLET: A grandiose, unforgettable version of this legendary ballet. The British Festival Ballet's production of Swan Lake is much more than a dance show; it's a spectacular, stunning version that will delight classical ballet purists and novice spectators equally. The quality of the dancers and the impeccable artistic direction bring this masterpiece to life in a form of overwhelming beauty. An unprecedented opportunity to discover or rediscover this mythical ballet in a performance of impeccable quality, far from the amateur productions that are often too weak. An evening of pure magic, where the art of ballet reaches its apogee. Virtuosity - Emotion The dancers of the British Festival Ballet, true virtuosos of classical ballet, demonstrate flawless technical and artistic mastery. Their interpretation of the roles of Odette and Odile, Siegfried and the sorcerer Rothbart, is of a rare subtlety, combining virtuosity and emotion. The Corps de Ballet, in perfect osmosis, manages to breathe a human and poignant dimension into this tragic story, while respecting tradition to perfection. The visit to Belgium of this internationally renowned company, directed by Yassaui and Sophie Mergaliyev, promises to be an unmissable event, offering audiences a total immersion in Tchaikovsky's enchanting and dramatic universe. Tchaikovsky -- Petipa One of the jewels of the classical repertoire, Swan Lake, set to the legendary music of Russian composer Tchaikovsky and choreographed by Marius Petipa, is one of the most danced ballets in the world. Swan Lake is one of those magical works that everyone has heard of, but few have ever seen performed by a top-class classical company. Tchaikovsky composed the ballet in 1876, but it took until 1895 for it to be premiered in St. Petersburg, choreographed by Marius Petipa. The Marseilles-born Petipa, who reigned over Russian dance for fifty years, had no idea that his ballets would be performed all over the world after his death, and that his Swan Lake, which was never performed outside Russia during his lifetime, would become the most popular of the Romantic ballets a century after its creation. The action takes place in a romantic fantasy world where Prince Siegfried falls in love with a swan who is none other than a princess under a spell. A swan by day, a woman by night, this is how she must live until the spell is broken...
