An incredible 25 years have passed since the premiere of the first part of the epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, directed by Peter Jackson and based on the book by J. R. R. Tolkien. Ten years after the sold-out performance with a live orchestra at the O2 arena, the legend of the ring comes to life once again. "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them." A unique combination of a spectacular film projection and live music by Oscar©-winning composer Howard Shore, performed by a 230-piece orchestra, choirs, and international soloists, promises a truly extraordinary experience for all the senses. The film will be screened in English with Czech subtitles. "The vast scope of the music requires a symphony orchestra, a mixed choir, a children's choir, and instrumental and vocal soloists singing in Tolkien's literary languages, but of course also in English," explains the composer. Shore's music captures not only vast emotions, distant vistas, and journeys full of obstacles and dangers, but also evokes the very structure of Tolkien's Middle-earth. The industrialized hordes of orcs demand the most aggressive sounds from Shorea, including Japanese taiko drums and metal bells and chains striking the piano strings, while the world of men---the wounded but proud heirs of Middle-earth---is represented by the harsh and probing elements of brass instruments. These musical worlds blend and occasionally join forces... and are always shaped by the sinister will of the Ring.
